It's 2006, and what better way to celebrate the New Year than the purchase of a new cat? Since there's been some controversy as to whether she should be called "Miss Kitty Fantastico" (my vote) or simply "Jaffa" (housemate's vote), I'm opening the table to votes and suggestions. Also comments on how cute she is will not be ignored. Forgive me for ranting, but I just don't think "Jaffa" has the pop-cultural appeal that we're looking for in a cat name. I mean I'm all for literal, physical descriptions and everything, but whatever happened to allusion? You know, that process whereby people and things are compared to people and things from other texts in order to generate a metaphorical relationship between the two?
